Who is Career Growth Basics?
Hi: I’m Andrea G. Shenkman.
Curiosity has always been a part of who I am, and reading is something I’ve used throughout my life to find answers. I always found the possibilities to move forward.
Here’s a brief outline of my work experiences.
- Got started in sales where I got stuck in a rut.
- Networking helped me find a position in marketing which dead ended into a career rut.
- Transitioned to human resources as a result of a side hustle I did for a friend.
- Decided to retire from corporate and focus on family.
- Found the courage to pursue a psychotherapy degree.
- Maintained a private counseling practice for 15 years.
- Got referred to teach a college course when a colleague got sick. Loved it. Stuck with it. Eventually became an official college professor.
- Expanded on-campus teaching to online teaching and slowly transitioned to web-based teaching and career counseling and CAREER GROWTH BASICS was born.
Live In The Possibilities is my personal motto. When times have gotten challenging, it’s helped me
- Hit the pavement to find work
- Call friends and family to find work
- Turn on the computer to research the work possibilities.
- Stay resilient.
